Adventure Itinerary

 
Day 1 - West Mountain Hike, Happy Hour & Dinner

Arrive to the private campground on Lake Hamilton at 3pm and check in with the Backwoods guide and host. Settle into the campsites and get ready to head to Hot Springs National Park for our first hike that will be 3.5 miles on the West Mountain. We will head into downtown Hot Spring to grab a drink from a local brewery or glass of local wine when the hike is completed. After an hour long happy hour session, clients are welcome to get dinner on their own before heading back to the campsite for a campfire and s’mores. Dinner will be provided at the campsite for those who would like to come back to the campsite after happy hour.

Day 2 - Hike to Hot Springs Mountain Tower Followed by the Buckstaff Bathhouse

The morning will start off with a classic camp breakfast while enjoying the rising sun on the lake. After breakfast, we will head back to the National Park and start the 2nd hike of the trip on the North Mountain. This mid-morning hike will be 6.5 miles and will be the longest time on the trail during the weekend. During the hike, the Hot Springs Mountain Tower will be a destination; everyone will take the glass elevator to the top of the observation deck to get the best view of the city and National Park. We will arrive back in town after the hike and then head to the historic Buckstaff Bathhouse for a scheduled “Traditional Mineral Spa” and get some time to relax and soak in a whirlpool tub. There will be an optional happy hour and dinner for anyone who would like to stay in town and then head back to the campsite. There will be dinner provided at the campsite for any clients who will want to come back and relax at the lakefront. The night will finish up with a campfire and cobbler.

Day 3 - Final Hike & Departure

The third and final day of the trip starts with a hearty breakfast and time to relax on the lakefront. There will be an optional final hike for clients that want to get extra time on the trail before hitting the road out of town. The last hike will be an out and back on the sunset trail that totals 4 miles. This hike connects the West Mountain with the North Mountain and overlooks the town and surrounding areas. When the final hike is complete and clients have loaded up their possessions from the campsites, the trip will be finalized.

Accommodations

This trip is located at a private campground on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Each client will check-in with a Backwoods host and be guided to a designated campsite. The campsites are located on a private lake front property that has bathrooms, running water, showers and electricity. Each client will be outfitted with a full camping setup for the entirety of the trip. There is an on-site Backwoods guide and host that will lead each hike, prepare meals and help with any individual accommodations. No campsite setup or break down is required by clients, the Backwoods team will provide those services for you.

Health

This adventure includes several hikes covering multiple kilometers over rough ground with steep ascents and descents. Preparation and physical preparedness is important prior to going on this trip.

Single Supplement

All prices are calculated for double-occupancy. To ensure your comfort, we will always match you with a roommate of the same sex – and if we're unable to match you with a roommate, you may end up with your own room free of charge. If sharing is not your idea of fun, you can request a single supplement for a small upcharge when you pay your final amount. You will be able to make this election on your trip registration.
