Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival
Make your way to Scottsdale, Arizona and check into your hotel (included). Relax and prepare for the amazing adventure that awaits!
Day 2 - Descend Into the Canyon
Meet your guides and fellow travelers in the lobby of the hotel at 6:00am and prepare for your spectacular adventure in the Grand Canyon. Departing Scottsdale and the vibrant Sonora Desert, we drive north (230 miles/4 hours, transportation provided) to our trailhead in the majestic Grand Canyon National Park. Together we descend through the colorful layers as our guides teach up the miraculous geology that created this natural wonder of the world. Only a select few spend the night in these lower reaches, making our Grand Canyon experience even more special. Exact campsite will be determined prior to departure based on permit availability, but we’ll hike up to 8 miles with up to 5,000 vertical feet of elevation loss and camp at a backcountry site below the rim of the Canyon. (Meals Included: B, L, D)
Day 3 - Explore Below the Rim
Today you will leave your heavy pack behind and continue exploring with a lighter day pack. We’ll explore further into the canyon, hiking 3-5 miles with up to 1,200 feet of elevation change. Spend the day learning about canyon history and features, and possibly hiking down to the mighty Colorado River. Afterwards our guides will prepare a hearty and delicious dinner for our final night in the canyon together. We’ll swap stories of our favorite moments and build our strength for tomorrow’s final challenge (Meals Included: B, L, D)
Day 4 - Conquer the Canyon
It is an early start this morning to pack up and hit the trail. However, don’t forget to soak in the magnificence of the canyon around you. We journey back through the changing rock layers, taking our time as the return to the rim is a challenging uphill climb. We will hike up to 8 miles, with up to 3,600 feet in elevation gain. With triumphant hearts, we emerge from the canyon’s depths to the rim and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. From here, we transfer back to the hotel in Scottsdale with memories and friendships to last a lifetime (230 miles/4 hours driving). Expect to be dropped off at the host hotel by 6:00pm. Flights should not be booked prior to 9:00pm. (Meals Included: B, L)

Note: Itinerary is subject to change depending on permit availability, weather, trail and course conditions, travel, health and well-being of the trip participants, and interests of the group.
