Arrive around 5-6:00pm at the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area entrance. You will be greeted by a Backwoods guide and led to the campsite. Your campsite will be already built by our staff and ready to move in.
Dinner will be served around 6:30pm.
A campfire will be built for s'mores and stories (assuming a burn ban is not in effect). Then it is off to bed to get a good night’s sleep for the next day of adventure.
Meals Included: Dinner
Breakfast will be served at 7:30am (eggs, bacon, and pancakes).
After a hearty meal and some time to collect our gear for the day, we will set off on our big day hike to tour Freshman Mountain, Buzzards Roost, Little Rock, and finally the summit of Enchanted Rock around noon.
Having packed a lunch before leaving, we will eat on-trail in the shade of the giant oaks along the backside of the main dome. With luck, we will see rock climbers making their way up the vertical, pink granite walls.
After our meal, we will hike the rest of the way around the main dome, then head back to camp walking through the valley between the main dome and freshman mountain.
We will shoot for dinner at 6:30pm where we will be serving up a Texas staple, BBQ!
After dinner, there will be an optional hike up to the top of buzzards roost. There is great boulder exploration on this smaller rock including a few hidden caves.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The last day of our trip will start with an early hike for those of us who are up for it. Starting at 5:45am we will head out to summit the dome one last time for a beautiful sunrise.
Breakfast will be served around 7:30 - 7:45.
After breakfast everyone will be free to explore on their own, or pack it up to head back to civilization.
