The following applies to all trips hosted and/or facilitated by Backwoods Adventures (“BWA”).

Payment and Cancellation

Paying for your Backwoods Adventure

  • Reserve your spot with an adventure deposit

    When you book a Backwoods Adventure on our site, you are charged a deposit amount to reserve your spot on the trip list. The deposit amounts for BWA trips are as follows:

    • $300 deposit for domestic trips
    • $500 deposit for international trips
    • Deposits for all trips are due upon booking (at checkout). A separate deposit is required for each person attending in order to reserve a spot. You can purchase multiple deposits at one time on our site.
    • All deposits are NONREFUNDABLE.
    • In certain circumstances, the amount paid as a deposit may be applied as a credit towards a deposit on another BWA trip.
  • Payment in full for your Backwoods Adventure

    Payment of the remaining balance [trip price less deposit] is due prior to beginning your trip

    • 60 days in advance for domestic trips
    • 90 days in advance for international trips

    Backwoods will send out at invoice for the remaining balance. Upon receipt of said invoice, customers will have one week to make payment. Failure to provide full payment will result in forfeiture of the reservation and loss of the trip deposit. Balances which are paid in full are refundable up until 30 days from trip departure.

Cancellations by Guests

We understand that life happens, and some of our guests need to cancel a trip. Backwoods Adventures makes it simple to cancel an adventure, while at the same time protecting other guests that have purchased the same trip as you.

Cancellations can be made by writing Backwoods Adventures email You can also speak to a Backwoods Adventure representative at (888) 849-6637 during normal office hours. Please note the following prior to requesting a cancellation:

  • All deposits are NONREFUNDABLE.
  • Any trip cancelled 30 days or more from the trip departure is eligible for a full refund, less the deposit amount.
  • Cancellations made 30 days or less from trip departure will result in a loss of the full balance paid.
  • Any return of funds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment.

Cancellations by Backwoods Adventures

Backwoods Adventures reserves the right to cancel an adventure due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the adventure non-viable. If BWA cancels an adventure, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, BWA has the right to either issue a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.
